Matt and Deanna’s story
Most people know the story of how we met. Probably even more know about the proposal. But one key story that most don't know about is how we actually fell in love—way earlier than probably either of us expected.
This is the story of wings, football and shooting faces.
Our relationship started a little before the 2013 NFL season kicked off. This made Thursday date nights easy for both of us, because there was Thursday Night Football. 8 PM, every Thursday. It quickly became a staple date for us, as we met at one of our places with often Deanna being in charge of bringing the wings and Matt supplying the drinks. It was a match made in love-for-football heaven.
However, at halftime and in the aftermath of those games, we found another shared passion, if you want to call it that. Call of Duty on the Playstation 4. Or "shooting faces" as Deanna calls it. There, we took our first stab at being paired up as a team, working together, communicating, disagreeing, compromising and ultimately coming out better for it on the other side ... all by way of little digital warriors who fought their freakin' hearts out. Too often, this would take us into the wee hours of the morning. It was nothing for us to lose a battle at 2:30 am, turn to one another and say "Just one more time. I think we can get it." And we'd fire up the ol' Playstation for one more round!
This may not be the traditional love story. But it's ours, and we love it.
